How often should you wash your hair?

by Ecoestic Sweden on Nov 04, 2022
The hair does not need to be washed every day, it wears on the hair and especially in the summer when we are out in the sun a lot and swimming. However, it is very individual and depends a lot on your lifestyle and hair type. Generally speaking, it is recommended to wash your hair 2-3 times a week.  People with thin hair are advised to wash their hair about every other day. If, on the other hand, you have thick, voluminous and curly hair, you should wash between every two and every four days. The water dries out the hair, and the hair is most fragile when it is wet. When you wash your hair and clean the scalp of the natural grease, the sebaceous glands produce even more sebum. If you wash your hair too often, you quickly end up in a vicious circle where you increase the production of sebum. If you use a sulfate-free shampoo, you don't have to worry about drying out your hair and scalp the way sulfates tend to do. Hairdressers recommend always using conditioner after shampooing. The conditioner closes the cuticles after the shampoo has opened them, and also helps to protect the hair.

The benefits of sulfate-free shampoo

by Ecoestic Sweden on Oct 18, 2022
Retains moisture and repairs hair If you have colored or chemically treated your hair, use a sulfate-free shampoo. Sulfate-free shampoos help retain the natural moisture in your hair, so it doesn't lose its natural shine and softness. Retains hair color If you have colored hair, sulfate-free shampoos are a boon. Unlike their counterparts, these are gentle and won't strip your hair of color too quickly. Gentle on your hair Sulfate-free shampoos not only contain moisturizing agents, but also make your hair shinier. Using such a shampoo along with conditioner can give your hair shine. Reduces irritation Sulfates are harsh on the scalp and can cause irritation and itching. Sulfate-free shampoos are much milder and can help you control scalp inflammation. Tear free Sulfate-free shampoos are gentle on your eyes, too. They do not give an unpleasant burning sensation if you get a little shampoo in your eye. Environmentally friendly Because they are mainly made from plant derivatives, sulfate-free shampoos are environmentally friendly. Adds moisture to the hair Sulfate-free shampoos work wonders on low-porosity hair, which makes it hard for your hair to get moisture. They help moisturize your hair and tame frizz. Sulfate-free shampoos help you avoid prolonged exposure to potentially toxic chemical compounds.
